Field Investigation on the Coastal Erosion and Progradation Evolution of the Binzhou Shelly Chenier in China: Comparisons between Normal and Typhoon Hydrodynamics

The shelly chenier is a dike-like accumulation formed by waves, currents, and other hydrodynamic forces pushing the shells their debris in intertidal zone to high tide line. Based remote sensing interpretation, field investigation, GPS-RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) measurement, this paper investigates erosion progradation evolution Binzhou Shelly Chenier China usingcomparisons between normal typhoon hydrodynamics. results show that: (1) There are two kinds study area, first “the tidal channel chenier” which significantly affected current, second open chenier”, direct scouring silting waves. continuously eroding under hydrodynamics beach supplied large number hydrodynamics, while gradually developed due action alongshore currents in–out flows.
